The ASSP Greater San Jose Chapter fully embraces and supports Total Worker Health® (TWH). This is our theme for 2025. NIOSH describes the Total Worker Health® (TWH) approach as prioritizing a hazard-free work environment for all workers and acknowledges that “work is a social determinant of health.” We believe that TWH encompasses policies, programs, and practices that integrate protection from work-related safety and health hazards with the promotion of injury and illness prevention efforts to advance worker well-being. It represents a comprehensive, organization-wide strategy for worker well-being.
By understanding and implementing TWH principles, organizations can transition from a compliance-centric to a risk-based safety management strategy. These principles encourage consideration of both the physical and the psychosocial work environments and their effects on workers. The resources offered aim to enhance your comprehension and implementation of a TWH approach to prevent injuries and illnesses in your workplace, thereby promoting the overall well-being of workers.
We want to share the following TWH resources to membership.
