ASSP Greater San Jose Chapter – Scholarship Opportunity 2026

Dear ASSP Greater San Jose Chapter Members,

The Greater San Jose Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals is pleased to announce the availability of two (2), one-thousand ($1,000) student scholarships for the upcoming academic year. These scholarships are intended to support students pursuing careers in environmental, occupational, and health and safety, or closely related fields.

Eligible students include those majoring or minoring in safety-related disciplines such as engineering, environmental science, chemistry and chemistry-related sciences, health sciences, kinesiology, nursing, occupational safety and health, psychology, and other  science-based programs, are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university with an anticipated graduation date. Students enrolled in workshops, continuing education, or safety training courses or programs are not eligible. Details on who can apply and how to apply are found on the flyer.

Preference will be given to students who:

  • Have a letter of recommendation from an ASSP Chapter member , preferably from the Greater San Jose Chapter.
  • Are currently working as student interns or assistants in a safety-related internship or an Enviromental Health and Safety (EHS) office.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the safety and health profession.
  • We encourage our members to share this opportunity with eligible students, serve recommenders, and help promote the mission of ASSP by supporting future safety professionals.
