JUNE FOCUS: Heat Illness Prevention Program & National Safety Month
With summer temperatures rising, heat illness prevention is an essential priority. Here are a few friendly reminders to help keep workplaces safe.
• Launch/update of the Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Plan (§3395)
• Verification that water, shade, and rest protocols are operational at all outdoor worksites
• National Safety Month all-staff communication and safety awareness campaign
Supervisors of outdoor crews must ensure heat illness prevention procedures are briefed to all workers before each high-heat day.
