Overview: October 8, 2019 – Pulling at the Heart Strings of Safety – Making the Emotional Connection

As safety professionals, we provide information but how do we translate that information into action?  This session will help you understand how to make the emotional connection with your employees and make them ‘want’ to work safer.  You will learn the importance of delivering safety by influencing the way they feel about it. Appealing to your employee’s emotion in safety training makes the connection between training and action.  Turn your safety information into active training at the worksite!

Learning Objectives

  1. understand how to make the emotional connection with employees and make them ‘want’ to work safer. Using an emotional connection within your safety training creates a connection that is a bigger driver to behavior change
  2. learn the importance of delivering safety by influencing the way employees ‘feel’ about it.
  3. turn ‘education’ from the classroom into ‘training’ at the workplace.
